After seeing the Pooh movie, Jeanna remarked of how tolerant the animals are of each other. Each animal has glaring faults, but each of the other animals accepts these faults as part of their character. No one hates Pooh for being unintelligent; that’s just Pooh. No one hates Rabbit for his temper; that’s just Rabbit.

Since then she has said to me “That’s just Rabbit” several times when I was criticizing another person.

A wise saying.

As you probably don’t know, my career ambition is to be a writer/director of “real” movies, and this movie is somewhat significant in that it is the first time I had the opportunity to produce something that is an original narrative.  I’ve done videos for weddings, created an extra-silly music video and goofed around with a HandyCam in high school, but is the first time trying to tell a story.

There was no script for this, and the whole thing was very spontaneous.  Steve Emme called me unexpectedly and asked if I could film him driving the car to and at the Kankakee County Speedway.  So I did.  We got together again a few days later to record an interview/monologue.  The footage was edited in Adobe Premier, and the results are below.

In principle, anyway.  I’m not under the impression that all the world is going to show up here and see them.
